Main Duties:
• Manage a strong team of 10 engineers across a 110-acre site
• To manage site EC&I maintenance, capital project, modification and continuous improvement activities ensuring that these meet or exceed all business and regulatory requirements.
• Provide a high level of EC&I technical support to the site. This covers the full range of electrical systems; distribution, instrumentation, and plant control and automation systems and in particular includes all H&S elements.
• Understand and maintain an up-to-date awareness of the current and forthcoming HS&E legislation and their impact on the EC&I improvement activities on site, including COMAH requirements.
• Provide advice on electrical regulatory requirements to be fulfilled by Kronospan.
• Site responsibility for compliance with DSEAR regulations in regard to the maintenance and replacement of equipment within defined zoned areas
• Overall management of statutory electrical requirements, and appointed electrical duty holder
• Management of site electrical isolation procedures and electrical safety rules
• Ensure that the maintenance management systems for all EC&I-related activities are effectively implemented, utilized, and maintained.
• Overseeing management of high and low-voltage distribution networks and on-site electrical generation plants (30MW).
• Complete planned and unplanned high voltage switching, including out-of-hours support.
• Ensure site network is maintained to current industry standards and regulatory requirements are maintained and adhered to.
Management responsibilities:
• Provision of leadership, development, and coaching to your direct reports.
• The performance management of your direct reports to include the structured use of the Kronospan performance appraisal process.
• Allocation of tasks, projects and specific responsibilities to Electrical Engineers via the site's maintenance management system.
• Ensure task based competencies for personnel engaged in working with safety related control systems are set and jobholders are assessed against them. Identify and fill any gaps with further training or external, competent resource.
• Management of the site's maintenance management system / electrical procedures, including auditing and implementation.
• Management and utilization of suitably competent external resource for electrical and instrumentation work, when required.
Requirements Qualifications and Experience:
• Candidates will be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
• 8 years + experience working within an Electrical Engineering position
• 3 years + management experience
• Be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of electrical engineering
• Be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of HV & LV distribution systems.
• High voltage Senior Authorized Person (SAP).
