A Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) Nurse provides specialized care to patients with complex medical conditions who require extended hospital stays for recovery or management of chronic illnesses. These patients often have multiple, severe health issues such as respiratory failure, organ dysfunction, or post-surgical complications. The LTAC nurse’s primary duties include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing treatments to stabilize patients and manage their conditions over time.

LTAC nurses work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, physical therapists, and respiratory therapists, to develop individualized care plans. They assist with wound care, ventilator support, and other ongoing medical interventions.
