Periodontics Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Periodontist to join our growing team. As a Periodontist, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the oral health of our patients by diagnosing and treating diseases and conditions related to the gums and supporting structures of the teeth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough examinations and assessments of patients' oral health, including evaluating the condition of the gums, health of the bone structure, and overall state of the mouth
- Develop treatment plans and provide specialized periodontal procedures, such as scaling and root planing, gum grafts, and dental implants, to address gum diseases and conditions
- Educate patients on the importance of proper oral hygiene and provide instruction on how to maintain good gum health
- Collaborate with other dental professionals, such as general dentists, prosthodontists, and oral surgeons, to coordinate comprehensive treatment plans for patients
- Keep detailed and accurate patient records and maintain up-to-date knowledge of periodontal advancements and techniques
- Effectively communicate with patients and their families to ensure they understand their treatment options and feel comfortable with the proposed plan of care
- Take part in continuing education and professional development to stay current with industry standards and advancements in periodontics
Requirements:
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
- Completion of a periodontal residency program
- Valid state dental license
- Board certification in Periodontics
- Strong knowledge and experience in performing periodontal procedures, such as gum surgery, dental implants, and scaling and root planing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
