As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that students with special educational needs and disabilities receive the personalised support they need to succeed. Your compassion, creativity, and commitment will make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students and their families.
These roles will be within Bedfordshire and surrounding villages, and can be day-to-day supply, part-time and full-time contracts to suit your personal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet the individual needs of students.
- Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies and techniques to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
- Collaborating with parents, teachers, and other professionals to develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
- Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to the class teacher to inform ongoing interventions and adjustments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities preferred.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special education (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs and learning styles of students.
