As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that students with special educational needs and disabilities receive the personalised support they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN within the classroom and during additional activities.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt and prepare learning materials and resources.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Encourage positive behaviour and assist with personal care needs when required.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to support student development and wellbeing.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment that enhances student engagement and learning.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEN, ideally within an educational or care setting.
- Understanding of various SEN needs and strategies to support them effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students’ individual needs.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN training) are advantageous.
- Flexibility to work across different schools in Northampton.
