This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced classroom practitioners who want to gain valuable school-based experience while enjoying flexible working hours.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with the pre-prepared work provided.

The Role

  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Deliver pre-set lesson material across a range of subjects.
  • Provide guidance and support to students where needed.
  • Follow school policies to ensure consistency and continuity.

About You

  • Previous experience working with young people (in schools, tutoring, mentoring, or similar).
  • Confidence to manage classrooms and engage with secondary school students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • A valid DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply).

What We Offer

  • Flexible cover work, as well as opportunities for short and long-term placements.
  • Competitive daily pay, with weekly payments.
  • A great stepping stone for those considering a career in teaching.
  • Supportive schools and ongoing guidance from our dedicated Teaching Tomorrow consultants.
  • The chance to develop transferable skills in behaviour management, leadership, and communication.

Teaching Tomorrow is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants are subject to pre-employment checks including satisfactory references and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.

It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

We offer payment via both Umbrella and PAYE Services.
