Teaching Tomorrow is delighted to be working with a good primary school in Milton Keynes who are looking for a Year 1 Teacher to join their team for a maternity cover, January to July 2026.

 

Teaching Tomorrow is an agency with a great reputation within Milton Keynes and have a strong relationship with this primary school, ensuring great support throughout the process.

 

This primary school is looking for someone for their Year 1 class on a full-time basis, with the role including planning and marking responsibilities. This is a great role for a teacher who is looking for a full-time role from January 2026.

This role would be perfect for both an ECT and a fully qualified teacher, who has lower Key Stage 1 experience and is willing to be a strong part of a team with a great school ethos.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT
  • Strong and successful Year 1 / Key Stage 1 teaching experience
  • Must be available four or five days a week
  • Comfortable covering lessons across the national UK curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual students

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Year 1 pupils
  • Assess and mark student work effectively
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and support teams
  • Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures
  • Contribute to the positive learning environment
