Are you our next staff member? We're in need of an experienced veterinary nursing educator who loves to share their veterinary nursing expertise and see students flourish.
Primarily, you will be involved in the training, assessment, mentoring and guidance of ACVN students right across the country via a distance format. We have students in small rural clinics right through to large specialist centres in the cities. You'll do this by providing excellent student support and customer service, utilising your extensive nursing knowledge and digital based facilitation skills.
You must have the ability to travel across Victoria to assess students face to face when needed, and flexibility to travel interstate to cover areas where we do not have a local educator (pending any COVID restrictions), so residing close to an airport with good connections is essential. Car provided.
This can be a HOME or OFFICE based position. If home based, you'll need to have a dedicated home office setup and fast internet and the ability to attend our Melbourne office (Hoppers Crossing) as needed, to pick up and return our extensive collection of simulation mannequins.
It is mandatory that you have:
ACM40418 Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. If you have older or international/degree qualifications, you must complete qualification and experience mapping documentation to demonstrate equivalence.
TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, OR the TAE40110 with TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills and TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools.
Valid employee working with children's check (Vic)

Essential skills and attributes for this position:
A minimum of 3 years of teaching veterinary nursing including face to face and digital facilitation.
Experience teaching with simulation of clinical skills on a variety of mannequins
At least 5 years of clinical veterinary nursing experience.
Regularly undertake continuing education/member of veterinary associations.
Sound working knowledge and understanding of all aspects of veterinary nursing.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Sound computer skills, including moodle LMS, Microsoft Office, and student management systems.
Good attention to detail, excellent spelling and grammar, and the ability to assess the content of what you are reading.
Strong desire to teach and foster learning in others.
A working with children's check will be required prior to commencing employment if you do not already hold one.

Staff benefits include free CE and flexibility in work hours. Our staff are paid under the Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award 2010. Your remuneration will depend on experience and qualifications - if you're new to education, expect around $55,000-$75,000 TAP.
