Our client has an immediate, full-time job opportunity for an Email Server Administrator to administer, maintain, and support the University’s email systems alongside a dynamic and collaborative team. The organization is a University in the Greater New Orleans, LA. The candidate will report to the Network Enterprise Technical Support Director. The job location is flexible with onsite, REMOTE and/or hybrid options available. Remote candidates will be required to visit the office periodically in New Orleans, LA.
Qualifications
- Expert level knowledge administering a hybrid Exchange environment
- Experience installing and configuring Exchange 2016 or newer servers in a large environment
- Must be comfortable using PowerShell or similar coding languages
- Understanding of networking as it pertains to inbound and outbound email message flow
- Experience troubleshooting client access for Exchange 2019 and O365.
- Experience with email migrations from on-premises to Microsoft AZURE Cloud.
- Experience configuring email gateways in a hybrid environment and with spam filters
- Experience managing Exchange users in a hybrid environment, manage recipients - create, modify, delete, shared mailbox, recover deleted emails
- Expertise in handling mail routing and mail-flow related issues
- Managing Mailbox databases/ Backups/ Repair/ Recovery
- Knowledge of Windows Server (20016 and newer)- knowledge of Active Directory
- Sound knowledge of email clients like Microsoft Outlook and OWA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Knowledge in Active Directory architecture and infrastructure (LDAP, Directory Replication, group policy, security, and schema changes)
- Knowledge of DNS, and Windows Authentication, to include authentication with other technologies for Single Sign-On
- Knowledge and troubleshooting skills for Group Policy on local workstations and servers
- Ability to prioritize and manage several projects and milestones
- Leads planning and coordination of enterprise email enhancements/upgrades
- Monitors mailbox and storage capacities to maintain license compliance
- Advanced skills with PowerShell or similar scripting platform for task automation
- Participates in disaster recovery/business continuity planning including email backup and recovery procedures
- Provides tier 1 end-user support for email issues
- Maintains policies and standard procedures to increase system uptime
- Identifies training needs and keeps current on cloud email technologies
- Recommends message retention and archive destruction timeframes for email
- Monitors email alerts and KPI’s to ensure optimal email performance
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related degree
