About Us:

TheHomeMag Pacific Northwest is a top-tier, regional publication in the Home Improvement space. We seek a creative and hardworking Graphic Designer to support our current Graphic Designer and join our dynamic team. Our publication is dedicated to inspiring, informing, and captivating clients while upholding TheHomeMag Design Standards.

Role Overview:

As a Graphic Designer, you will work closely with our entire staff, including Account Reps, Office Manager, and Publisher. Your role will involve assisting in creating visual advertisements, participating in local marketing material creation, and upholding our high standards of creativity, problem-solving & ad design. This position is ideal for an energetic, enthusiastic, and creative individual who wants to positively impact our community, work with a dynamic team, loves an active and spirited environment, and enjoys engaging with the types of personalities and characters involved in home improvement, construction, and small business/entrepreneurial endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, refine, & maintain advertising campaigns for customers
  • Design & develop key  messaging for clients to drive a specific business result 
  • Collaborate with clients and account reps to create effective advertising campaigns
  • Update & maintain client Marketplace listings on our web platform
  • Participate in creating local marketing materials as needed
  • Assist in emailing advertisement proofs to clients every cycle
  • Develop magazine layout per our  production cycle
  • Aid in coordinating and facilitating the proofing process for ads and the magazine
  • Upload materials to the printer’s production site
  • Provide reporting data for monthly production and advertising outcomes as required
  • Archive artwork and client advertisements
  • Enforce and properly implement TheHomeMag standards across product offerings
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned in the growth of the role

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator in a Mac environment
  • Keen design eye and technical skills, with the ability to think quickly and execute consistently
  • Strong people skills, including direct interaction with clients and internal team members
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, developing fresh ideas, and seeing opportunities for positive impacts
  • Exceptional communication skills, both inside and outside the organization
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritizing abilities
  • Advertising layout and campaign development experience is crucial; this position requires constantly challenging your creative abilities
  • Ability to meet production deadlines without compromising the quality of the product or the experience of the customer
  • Incredible attention to detail and the ability to spot concerns early and often
  • Strong customer service background with the ability to handle potentially stressful situations with grace, calm, and purpose

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Graphic Arts Design (Preferred)
  • Previous experience in advertising design is a plus
  • Desire to fully engage with our team and clients in all aspects of advertising design

Work Schedule: 

  • Monday – Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM; occasionally later to meet magazine deadlines
  • This position can be from a home office, given the right candidate. We wish this person to be regionally located (Oregon, Washington, or Idaho)  and available during standard working hours for team and customer engagement.
