Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in New Westminster. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and other financial reports for clients
- Providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to clients, including corporate and individual income tax returns
- Researching and analyzing accounting and tax laws and regulations to provide clients with advice and planning opportunities
- Managing and mentoring junior team members, providing guidance and training on accounting and tax-related matter
- Plan and execute audit fieldwork for private companies in compliance with Canadian GAAP and IFRS
- Lead and mentor junior team members in the execution of audit fieldwork
- Canadian tax experience including preparation of personal and corporate tax returns and various other required filings
- Identify and communicate accounting and auditing issues to management
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting and tax
- CPA designation or pursuing a CPA
- Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP and tax laws and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer skills, particularly in accounting software and tax software
