Job Description

 

About the Role:

Our Audit Group is looking for looking for an experienced, well rounded Senior Manager to join our Standards & Guidance (Quality and Assurance) Group that services our growing Public Company Audit and Assurance Group in our downtown Vancouver office. 

 

In this role, you will work directly with Partners and staff to build, monitor and maintain the audit standards at DMCL. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a standards and guidance capacity on audits of publicly listed companies, preferably with a national accounting firm.

 

There may also be the opportunity to provide complex accounting services to non-assurance clients.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work with the standards & guidance group to design and implement firm policies and procedures relating to the firm’s quality management systems, including client acceptance processes, internal monitoring, resource management and compliance matters;
  • Provide technical reviews and consultations for high risk audit engagements and complex accounting and auditing issues;
  • Assist with the implementation of the new Canadian quality management standards;
  • Provide guidance to staff & partners in the audit group on technically challenging areas;
  • Assist with the firm’s internal monitoring process;
  • Assist with internal firm training events, including determining a suitable training plan and the development of the applicable training material;
  • Communicate changes to firm standards and emerging auditing & accounting issues to audit partners & staff.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience working in a standards and guidance capacity on audits of publicly listed companies, preferably with a national accounting firm;
  • Strong technical accounting and audit knowledge;
  • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and initiatives;
  • Superior interpersonal skills and leadership skills with a commitment to professional and client service excellence;
