Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Tax Manager to join our team. The Tax Manager will be responsible for providing tax planning, compliance, and consulting services to clients, as well as managing and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing tax planning and compliance services to clients, including corporate and individual income tax returns
- Researching and analyzing tax laws and regulations to provide clients with tax advice and planning opportunities
- Reviewing and managing the preparation of complex tax returns
- Managing and mentoring junior team members, providing guidance and training on tax-related matters
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and maintaining client relationships
- Representing clients in dealings with tax authorities and representing the firm in professional associations and community organizations.
- Keeping up to date with current tax legislation and regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Canadian corporate and individual income tax
- CPA designation
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing and mentoring junior team members.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in tax software.
