Library Assistant at Watermark Books & Café

Watermark Books & Café is a vibrant and bustling independent bookstore and café located in the heart of the city. We are currently seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Library Assistant to join our team and assist us in providing exceptional service to our customers.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Library Assistant, you will play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of our bookstore and café. Your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting customers with finding and selecting books and other items.

- Checking out items to customers and processing returns.

- Maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the store.

- Restocking shelves and displays as needed.

- Processing and shelving incoming shipments of books and merchandise.

- Assisting in the coordination and execution of store events and author signings.

- Operating cash registers and processing customer payments.

- Providing exceptional customer service, answering questions and providing recommendations.

- Assisting with café orders and serving food and beverages.

Requirements:

- A passion for books, literature, and providing excellent customer service.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

- Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.

- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
