As a Facilities Maintenance Technician at Westmed Ambulance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of our operational facilities. You’ll be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting building systems, and supporting emergency repairs to keep our medical transport hubs running efficiently 24/7.
Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on building systems including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and security systems
Conduct general repairs such as carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and door maintenance
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and leadership, prioritizing based on safety and operational impact
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company safety protocols
Maintain landscaping, exterior grounds, and parking areas to keep them free of hazards
Collaborate with vendors and contractors for major repairs or installations as needed
Monitor and manage facility inventory including tools, cleaning supplies, light bulbs, and parts
Assist in setup or teardown of workstations, office moves, and equipment relocations
Keep maintenance logs and service records up to date and report completed work
Support environmental cleanliness and sanitation to meet healthcare facility standards
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, building services, or similar trade required
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipment
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and stand/walk for extended periods
Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record preferred
Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions
Exposure to cleaning agents, dust, noise, and mechanical equipment
Day shifts with occasional evening or weekend work for urgent repairs or special projects
