Wildgoose started with a simple mission: to bring people together to create memorable team experiences. In 2004 our MD, Jonny, delivered paper-based treasure hunts to customers looking for a fun way to connect; today we’re delivering thousands of technology-based team activities across the world, through our award-winning app Mobile Adventures.
We have great ambitions: to show the world that corporate team building doesn’t have to be purchased and run in the ‘traditional way’ and that wherever you are in the world, you can join in that shared experience. We’re proud of where we’ve got to but we’re still growing. And that means we need more brilliant people who share our ambition, to join in with the next, most exciting, part of our story.
Our vision is to provide world-class team building events, on-demand. Everything we do is geared towards making that happen. We want to continue to provide our amazing team activities to organisations across the globe via automated technology that satisfies our clients.
Creating a business that provides the Wildgoose Team with a workplace that is engaging, professional and fun is really important to us. Whilst our rapid growth has been an important part of our success, we never want to lose sight of our small business roots and want to maintain our unique family orientated culture as we continue to grow.
As a full-stack Rails developer, you will be working as an integral part of our Engineering team. We're a small team, so your work will carry great weight and have great impact to the business.
You will be working in a small close-knit team, helping maintain and extend the capabilities of our mission-critical web applications. You'll mainly be helping to facilitate the sales and delivery aspect of events for Wildgoose.
To start, you'll join as a leading member on our growth products, helping customers build and buy their next event. In the near future, there is further scope as we look to build the next generation of our entire product. We have been growing the team with different levels of seniority, so there will soon be opportunity to help lead the way, mentor and set the standard for less experienced developers, whilst picking up knowledge from more senior developers.
You will need to have some experience of working with Ruby on Rails, but we are ultimately looking for someone who relishes a front-end design and build challenge. Ideally, you'll have some experience in fast-moving and fast-growing companies and excel at rolling out new features and capabilities consistently. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to flex system design and coding skills, with the freedom to approach and use front-end technologies you enjoy.
Our tech stack is built on multiple Ruby on Rails apps. We require you to have some prior experience of working with this framework. We use Turbo & Stimulus extensively, as well as Tailwind as our CSS framework. We'd be looking for candidates with exposure to these frameworks or similar.
Additional kudos if you have experience in any of the following:
We pride ourselves on being a fair and diverse employer, with a transparent hiring process. Our interview process consists of the following few stages:
This is a great opportunity to work on a product which is thriving in a difficult time for the events industry. You’ll receive a competitive salary, have flexible and remote working options, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), a pension scheme and plenty of great company socials (it's kind of what we do, after all).
