- Job Title: Consultant Gastroenterologist
- Conduct consultations and physical examinations with patients to assess symptoms and make accurate diagnoses.
- Plan, implement and monitor treatment plans for patients with a variety of gastrointestinal disorders, including but not limited to, IBS, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and liver disease.
- Perform specialized diagnostic procedures, such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and biopsies.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, nutritionists, and radiologists, to develop and coordinate treatment plans.
- Stay updated on the latest developments and advancements in gastroenterology by attending conferences, seminars, and reading medical journals.
- Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on managing their conditions and maintaining good digestive health.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and be proficient in the use of electronic medical records systems.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice, as well as maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Requirements:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of a residency and fellowship in Gastroenterology.
- Board certification in Gastroenterology.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in a hospital or clinical setting.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of gastrointestinal disorders, their diagnosis, and management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and other digital healthcare technologies.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a large workload.
