- Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations of patients to diagnose kidney-related disorders
- Order and analyze diagnostic tests such as blood and urine tests, ultrasounds, and biopsies
- Interpret test results and make treatment recommendations based on findings
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with kidney diseases including medication management and lifestyle modifications
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families about kidney disease, lifestyle changes, and treatment options
- Collaborate with other specialists and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patients' diagnoses, treatments, and progress
- Stay updated on advancements in nephrology and make efforts to continually improve knowledge and skills in the field
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in the practice of nephrology
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training in nephrology
- Board certification or eligibility in nephrology
- Current state medical license and DEA license
- Proven experience in diagnosing and treating kidney-related disorders
- Strong knowledge of nephrology treatments, medications, and procedures
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
