- Diagnose oral and maxillofacial conditions through physical examinations, medical history review, and imaging tests
- Develop treatment plans and perform surgical procedures involving the mouth, teeth, face, and jaws
- Administer local and general anesthesia to patients
- Treat injuries and defects on the face and jaw caused by accidents or trauma
- Perform corrective jaw surgeries to align the teeth and correct facial asymmetry
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including dentists, orthodontists, and neurosurgeons, to determine the best course of treatment for patients
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-surgical care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in oral maxillofacial surgery techniques and technologies
Requirements:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited university
- Completion of an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program
- Board certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Valid state dental license
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in practicing Oral Maxillofacial Surgery
- Strong grasp of clinical protocols, procedures, and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Empathetic and compassionate towards patients
