Modern Languages Teacher-York Steiner School

York Steiner School is a diverse community with an International Outlook. We are passionate about opening up the world to our children both linguistically and culturally. We offer French as the core language from class 1 -8  within the curriculum in dedicated language slots on the timetable. We are now looking to enhance our 2nd language provision. We are looking for a teacher of German and/or Spanish.

We are looking for an MFL teacher who can teach engaging and dynamic lessons across the age range. For the younger age group, Classes 3 + 4 (Years 4 + 5) the focus would be immersive learning through speaking, listening, reading, songs and games so that our children have a feel for the language. For our older children, Class 5- 8 (Years 6-9), we would aim to build on these skills, introducing writing activities and deepening their grammatical awareness.

We are opening an Upper School in 2024 with our first year 10 class so there is scope for this role to increase year on year as the upper end of the school grows.
