Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and interpretation of laws and facts to address complex legal issues, particularly in defending intricate medical malpractice cases.
- Review and analyze medical records to support litigation strategies.
- Develop effective defense strategies for litigation cases.
- Prepare detailed legal memoranda on a wide range of issues.
- Draft responses to inquiries and requests for information from clients, attorneys, judges, officials, and agencies.
- Prepare and respond to written discovery.
- Represent clients in various legal settings, including court appearances, administrative hearings, depositions, and meetings.
- Maintain accurate and timely daily time entries.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of litigation experience, with a preference for candidates experienced in medical malpractice litigation and possessing immediately applicable skills.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with admission to the New Jersey Bar; additional Bar admissions are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Trial experience is beneficial.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work professionally with court officials, judges, attorneys, and the public, fostering effective working relationships.
- Ability to collaborate within established systems and processes involving extensive teamwork with attorneys, paralegals, and office staff.
- Proactive in generating new clients through networking and marketing efforts, both individually and as part of the firm.
- Comfortable with client meetings and public speaking.
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Dedicated to maintaining proficiency in the latest and most advanced legal techniques.
